Menguin dog culture

When I started Menguin, I knew that dogs would need to be involved. Even in the early days at Indiana University, one of our first work accidents involved a photo op with my golden retriever, Lou. Moments after taking the picture above, he accidentally clawed off about half of that laptop keyboard, and such, the Menguin culture of work-place dog diversion had begun.

For a while, every day was dog day at Menguin. Early on, we had a small workplace, about 2200 square feet, and on most days had at least 3 dogs in the office. It was fun, but also very distracting. We shifted the dog policy to “only Fridays” and suddenly Fridays had an entire week’s worth of dogs crammed into one day. It was awesome. Nothing got done.

Today, we have one dog in the office per day policy. It is perfect. Below are some of the furmonsters of Menguin. Enjoy them. We do.

CHARLIE THE BULLDOG

When Charlie is at Menguin, he soaks up the attention he receives from 30 people versus only the one at home.

DUBLIN THE GOLDENDOODLE

Nicknamed “Dubby”, he leaves a trail of water around the office that has dripped from his beard throughout the day.

ASPEN THE HEALER

No matter how many times his owner walks him to the grass to do his business, he always prefers to poop on the wooden deck in the back of the office.

MARLEY THE GOLDEN

Marley’s favorite activity at the office is when she gets to go on group walks with as many people as possible.

DOBBY THE MAGNIFICENT

While some dogs love a good snuggle sesh, Dobby embraces the couch potato life a little more.

KONA THE UNKNOWN

When Kona isn’t at home hanging out with her new baby sister, she enjoys opening doors at the office.

OLLIE THE GERMAN SHEPARD

Although Ollie enjoys lounging on the couch, he tends to rebel against the rules for his own enjoyment (as well as ours).

LUIGI THE TERRIER

Most dogs in the office prefer to lounge on the couches, Luigi prefers to lounge in our laps.

APPA THE HAVANESE

You can catch her under any of our desks munching on cheese.

LIZZY THE LAB

Menguin loves their interns, Lizzy terrorizes them by peeing on their backpacks.

KESSLER THE BORDER COLLIE

Kessler is particularly fond of our Director of Products, E. Kessler enjoys licking E’s hand when he’s not paying attention.

JAX THE BLACK LAB

Well, Jax’s favorite part of the day is leaving the office.
