Pick Your Suit or TuxBeing a service in the wedding industry means that we get the opportunity to participate in many styled shoots year-round. There are so many talented wedding planners, photographers, and vendors of all sorts that Menguin gets to share these shoots with. One of our favorite aspects of these shoots is seeing what creative and unique wedding cakes the cake vendor comes up with.
Here are some of our favorites. Below are 5 cakes done by vendors all over the country, paired with what Menguin tux was chosen for the shoot and why it works.
The Milan | @shelbylynnscake
Shelby Lynn Cakes made this gorgeous pink and purple 3D-brushstroke cake for a styled shoot done by Elope in Style. This unconventional pop of color and style choice paired nicely with the classic, neutral look of The Milan. The bold and daring look of this cake is balanced so well by the casual elegance that this suit provides.
The Ginza | @sweet.boutiques.cake
This unique, bohemian styled shoot with JLK Weddings is one of our favorites. There were so many details throughout it that made for such a cohesive and interesting look, and the cake was no exception. The combination of the deep purple, gold, and gorgeous marbled icing effect made for an attention-grabbing wedding cake. The marbled icing pulled the perfect shades from the not-too-dark but not-too-light gray Ginza suit.
The Zurich | @astonishingcakes
This moody shoot done by Hourglass Productions out of Denver also had Bohemian elements that we were all over. His rich, deep navy-colored Zurich suit with this chocolate-y, layered, dripping-with-florals cake made a beautiful combination that inspires adventure and romance.
The Milan | @bellesoulweddings
Here, we have another shoot featuring The Milan. Belle Soul Weddings captures romance effortlessly here in this Old World, Spanish shoot. The classic and traditional look of The Milan is paired with an elegant, floral-bursting cake. With the cake influenced by and coordinating with the bride’s florals, this is a great way to incorporate different elements of your wedding with each other and ensure stylistic consistency across the event.
The Savannah | @elysiarootcakes
Last but not least, this feminine, airy, straight-out-of-a-fairytale shoot by One July Photo features every dreamy aspect a wedding could feature: A princess dress, pink and white florals, a white and black tux, a floral and monogrammed wedding cake. The cake features both real florals, coordinating with the bride’s bouquet, as well as dainty and full pink icing flowers on the bottom tier.
How will you pair your tux and cake? Because now you can see, it’s a thing.
