Skylar Caitlin – Chancey Charm styled shoot

Skylar Caitlin, of Chancey Charm Wedding Planning and Design, recently did a styled shoot in Houston, Texas featuring one of our tuxes. Her passion for what she does is so clear in her sophisticated and elegant styling. Her work is comprehensive and refined, yet effortless. When she approached us to work together for this shoot, we couldn’t wait to see the finished product.

Davy Whitener is a photographer out of Atlanta, Georgia. His gentle color palettes, atmosphere-encompassing photos, and soft textures make for beautiful scenes.

Here’s what Skylar had to say about this shoot:

‘The vision began with the idea of blending Old World glamour with the natural Texas ranches into an organic glam wedding inspiration. By tying in subtle French touches and natural styling, the team’s design goal was to meld our inspiration couple’s love for European travel with an appreciation of their Southern upbringing. For the venue, there was no other choice than The Clubs at Houston Oaks, with the 15th Century chapel on property that was brought over from France. The entire property is full of these meticulous details that I cherish as a designer and played perfectly into the inspiration.

The palette started with a soft primary group of blush, cool grey, and gentle green. We brought it to life by infusing more depth into the secondary palette through vibrant burgundies, antique golds, forest greens, and rich, peachy flesh tones. From the Southern meets glam semi-naked red velvet cake, to the specialty craft cocktails, to the killer floral garland for the 1960s Rolls Royce, our team brought together their unique mix and perspective all with a special eye for details.

Menguin made dressing the model groom a breeze. I was able to select the style – the Dublin tuxedo – and all the accessories that were perfect for our black-tie editorial. All I had to do was input the model’s measurements and the tux was sent right to my door. Everything arrived well organized in the Menguin box which made keeping everything in one place easy. Once the shoot was finished, our model put everything back in the box, I stuck the return label on the outside, and the entire order was sent back. There was no hassle spending time in a store and the model didn’t even have to worry about a thing. This is huge when coordinating groups of groomsmen. I suggest to all of our couples to use services like Menguin that can reduce their to-do list and avoid unnecessary wedding stress.’

These scenes are timeless and tastefully vintage – with everything from the off-white ‘60s Rolls Royce to the deep red roses tucked within the soft florals. The Dublin tux added an extra touch of formality, with its subtle satin elements and shawl lapel.

This Texas Hill Country setting definitely has an old-French vibe – and paired with the light and airy spring colors and scenery, it made the atmosphere so full of life and romance. I mean, look at that 15th century chapel!

We loved getting to be a part of this shoot – this team did such a great job pulling off this look in its entirety. Bravo!
